At Strategic Impact we know first hand the hope, inspiration, and committment necessary to bring about social change.  This dedication is evidenced in agencies and institutions throughout our communities.  We also recognize that hope without metrics is a dream rather than a vision and a mission without strategy will not necessarily fail, but it is unlikely to reach its true endgame.

The independent or nonprofit sector has traditionally been defined by what it is not, and this lack of positive definition and  inherent restraint has a negative effect on the sector’s impact, especially in its ability to address community needs. In the course of the last century, the sector has seen exponential expansion, an increasing professionalism, and a core body of knowledge around best practices.

Everything from teaching a child to read to finding a cure for cancer falls under the umbrella of the sector.  The organizations and communities in the independent sector are charged with providing basic needs of food, shelter, and medicine; with providing formal and informal education; with providing leadership for issues of social justice. It is entrusted with the most critical issues of our time.

Unfortunately, the sector is strangled by economic constraints and organizations unwilling or unable to collaborate for greater impact, and largely because of these constraints,  social ills go unaddressed as we institutionalize community issues rather than solving them. Should an IRS regulation define how we find a cure or teach a child? It is time to move the needle; it is time for a better mousetrap--perhaps many mousetraps.

At Strategic Impact we believe firmly in refocusing our conversations on vision and outcomes and the collaboration necessary between donor investors, public policy leaders, and agencies to bring additional resources to the sector.  Because of this belief, our passion centers on philanthropic leadership and awareness as a platform for collaborative community impact and organizational as well as strategic, sector-wide systemic change.

What’s Unique About Our Methods

  • Focus on engagement, impact, expanding social and entrepreneurial innovation, social impact, and investing for change.
  • Multi-sector collaboration involving business, philanthropy, and the public sector at the onset of developing community-based initiatives, rather than seeking resources after the fact or to maintain the cause rather than solve for the endgame.
  • “What do you want to accomplish?”  Our services and processes are intended to speak to all audiences and remind us all to keep our eye on the goal and work with the end in mind.
